Born in Algemesí in the province of Valencia, Spain, Ernest Artal is a composer, orchestra conductor, band leader and choir leader. He studied music in the Conservatoires of Valencia, Barcelona and Malaga.

Popularity
He has been interviewed on radio and television and articles have been written about him in newspapers and magazines, both at home and abroad, and some of his work has been used over the years as theme tunes for the popular radio programme Encarna Sánchez on Radio COPE. His name also appeared in the prestigious musical review, International Directory of the Performing Arts for 1999, in Hightstown, NJ (USA).
Currently he is professor of Harmony, Principles of Composition, and Principles of Conducting at the Valencia Conservatoire and conducts the Barvinsky Philharmonic Orchestra.
